Support Post: "Nouveau Americain" with Naganuma Dance & AFP's "Sunset Jam in Central Park"

Here are two events coming up this November that will be well worth your time.

Naganuma Dance is a modern dance company here in New York that produces interesting and provocative pieces where movement, imagery, and text are presented on stage in a way to stimulate senses and to spark intellectual examination and discourse. My dear friend Justin became a part of this company a little over a year ago and I'm so proud to support his efforts, but more proud to spread the word so you do too - as honestly, it's not some piece-of-crap company - thankfully!!

You can also see more of them at the new Naganuma Dance website!

Art For Progress always produces multi-media art events, and often with a strong focus on music. This free Central Park event will be a cool way to enjoy the outdoors, listen to some tunes, take in some original art, and play a culture vulture while saying 'bye bye' to the color for the next 5 months! Eeek!

See you at either one or both!!

Art For Progress presents "Sunset Jam at Central Park"

On Saturday, November 7th, Art For Progress (AFP) will take on Central Park, transforming the Naumberg Bandshell and surrounding areas into a playground of artistic expression! Featuring DJ's Nickmatic, Gatto, JP Solis, Dennis Sebayan and Sal Leone, AFP will throw a dance party for the people of New York, with a special vocal performance from JC Cassis. The festivities will also feature art and interactive performances for the public to get involved in the action! Grafitti artists Royce Bannon and Alberto Hernandez will be there as well, creating works on canvas, drawing inspiration from the party in real time. The pieces they create will be part of a silent auction.

This party follows up a host of recent events over the past several months, where AFP (www.artforprogress.org) has gained a lot of ground in the areas of visual art, music, theatre, and performance. From the Urban Arts Fest in Brooklyn, the AFP Grooove Cruise, The Drop 2012 exhibition in Chelsea, and the most recent AFP Artists Loft, AFP is poised to bring the public a day of celebration. We invite the community to come out and get involved in a day of art, music and dance at this free party! The Bandshell is located mid-park, from 66th to 72nd Streets behind Summerstage.
