Adopted Yank and iPad Published

Two quick bits of change folks:

1)  I'm officially a Yankee -  I was adopted by the United States of America as of Dec 13, 2011 at 10:20 hours.  Should be interesting coming up with a new acronym of identity now along with all the other nations I claim - haha!!  JABAG???

2)  Some of you may have heard already,  but here it is again, I have a new article featured in an iPad App Magazine, Small Talk.

I was commissioned to write a feature length article on Fuerza Bruta in the late fall for their 4 year anniversary, complete with photos and video, titled:  The Spirit Dreams When You Look Up.

that's my shot from Fuerza Bruta on the iTunes page!  YeeHAW!

So if you have an iPad, ...which funny enough I don't...lol - please check it out by either purchasing the current issue (only $2.99!!), OR, just subscribing for the year on iTunes (just $19.99).   It's a great mag covering arts, entertainment, and culture world wide and I will be working with them on upcoming issues, so hop on it!

SeBiArt Getting Award for LIQUID

I'm so happy and ridiculously excited to share this with you!  I found out this week  that I am an awardee for the JCDC/NDG* National Visual Arts competition!  I submitted 3 large pieces from my LIQUID Trees series and thank GOD they liked them.  Yipppeeeeeeee! I don't know what the award will be exactly - but I'm happy for the recognition nonetheless - it's been a while since I won anything!

The award ceremony details are in the poster below.  Calling all of you in Jamaica to come out and support.  There will be voting at the ceremony for the 'Public Favourite' Cash and Trophy prize.  I wouldn't mind walking away with that too!  HolleR.

Feeling love from the universe SO MUCH right now.  See you there!

SUPPORT POST: Vote for my sister for The Anchor on CVM-TV!!

Hey guys,

Asking for your support again - but this time for blood!  My sister has been sticking it out on a local television show host competition, The Anchor, on CVM television.  She's been competing for 3 months and now its down to the last vote.

She's in the top three and after this week there will be a final two and that's it - so this really counts.  If you're in Jamaica - follow the instructions below and cast your vote as many times as you can!

**Note: Votes are reset to zero every week - so you must vote this week for your support to count! AND - voting is unlimited!

Also my KOTE exhibit at Wijicoon is still up until Saturday - get over there before you miss it!

Thanks guys and much love

LABYRINTH of FOREVER: Doorway for the Spirit Chasers

So I'm doing it again. I've entered the annual Art For Progress competition: Clash of the Artists 2010 and I need YOUR VOTE

It's a small annual global contest with a handful of competitive categories: Visual Art, Music, Film, Fashion, DJ, and CreativeI've put a video in the Creative category.   Some of you may remember I won this back in 2008 with a video presentation of my photo series SPLIT.

This video is a new edit of work I directed (shot by Fury Young) last Spring.  I prepared a treatment and scripted scenes for this a couple years ago, originally to be part of my CrowDeD series.

I then adapted it for a projection piece used in a 30 minute dance performance at Nina Buisson's Avant Garde Festival in June 09'.

It's a much shorter edit now, at 7 mins, with the new title, LABYRINTH of FOREVER: Doorway for the Spirit Chasers. Mystic Urchin supplemented it with some great text too! I hope you like it.

Please click the links to vote - when you get there, scroll down on the Art for Progress Creative voting page to find my video.  Thanks y'all!

NOTE: You will be sent a confirmation email with link that you need to click on or your vote won't go through.

FINALLY!!! SeBiArt shows in Europa! :)

Not surprisingly I am posting this a bit late in the day, but I'm nonetheless excited to share that my work will be a part of a group show in Nürnberg, Germany.  It's the annual Wintersalon at Nord Galerie Haus, which is opening this Sunday - Nov 22nd and will be up for a month!  The pieces are 4 selections by curator Margit Mohr from my CrowDeD series. Yahooooooo!  Now all I need is a surprise plane ticket so I can actually attend the opening...

See Galerie Haus e.V for more info.

SeBiArt Summer Program - Mark Your Calendars!!

So guess what dear revelers - its party time AND showtime all under one roof and and on one boat!! I'm collaborating with a bunch of creative geniuses this summer to bring to you some great art, excellent entertainment, and fun on a boat - jamming to tunes and watching some great dance in the golden sunset! Check out the flyers and see you there!!

The first event is All We Have Left… an evening of art by me, and new choreographic works by Sarah Holmes' SHBA Danceworks, and more NYC based and visiting dance companies from the west coast.
I will be previewing my photo series "Crowded" for this show. It will be presented at Triskelion Arts in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on July 25th. There will be an after party too! See flyer below and more at www.triskelion.org:

Triskelion Arts

The next event is the "Summer Groove Cruise" hosted by Art For Progress – the New York based non-profit arts and education organization that headed up the competition I won back in March. This event held on Aug 7th promises to be a lot of fun on the Star of Palm Beach circling the island of Manhattan in the evening sun. It will be a 3 hour soiree of music, dance performances, and art. This will also be an amazing opportunity to view up close international artist and weather maker Olafur Eliasson's New York City Waterfalls installed at different points with prime viewing from the water. If you don't have your own boat – come claim this one people! This is the way to parTAY!! Performances by Nina Buisson Contemporary Move featuring principal dancer Maki Shinagawa and SHBA Danceworks in collaboration with SeBiArt. See flyer and www.artforprogress.org:
